I am very excited about the new school year and I hope to meet each of you as the year progresses. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about my teaching credentials, and my goals and expectations for the year. I attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania where I obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with teacher certification in Art K-12. I hold an Instructional teachers license in the state of Virginia. I have been teaching art at EIS since 2002.
Each grade level will be exploring different artists and their techniques while creating original works of art. The students will have opportunities throughout the year to enter different Art Contests. I strongly encourage all students to participate in these events. These competitions help to build confidence and character, as well as offer the chance to win scholarships and prizes.
I expect each student to come to class prepared and ready to learn. Each student should bring the following supplies to class everyday: pencil (#2 or a mechanical pencil), eraser (it is a good idea to have at least 2 for the semester), and their agenda (this makes it easy for parents and teachers to communicate).
